2D1N Pulau Tiga

Pulau Tiga is one of the uninhabited Malaysian islands in Kimanis Bay off the western coast of Sabah. By taking 2½ hours land transfer from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Penyu jetty and another 20 minutes boat ride, you will reach the destination. The island is famous for its shooting scene of a well-known TV series, ‘Survivor’. Hence, many refer Pulau Tiga as Survivor Island. It was formed on 21 September 1897 due to an earthquake on Mindanao volcanic eruption near Borneo. The island is 607 hectares in size and has a couple of active mud volcanoes at the peak of the island. Pulau Tiga consists three islands and hence make up Pulau Tiga National Park. The other 2 islands beside Pulau Tiga are Pulau Kalampunan Besar & Pulau Kalampunan Damit (a.k.a Snake Island). Enjoy your time there either you want to explore the island, jungle trekking, bath with the mud volcanoes or go for snorkeling at the sand pit of Snake Island (optional).
